Surgery

Well I have to say other than three c-sections I have not had a surgery in my life. I don't think most people do unless you have major health problems. I remember when I was younger my mom had surgery on her back. She still has a bad back and should prolly look into spinal laser surgery again. It was not around when I was younger so it was not an option. The surgery did help her for the most part but she still has days that are very painful for her. I always feel sorry for her when I see her so miserable because of her bad back. I hope that she can get help sometime soon. Maybe this is the option that could really help her.

A Pool

One thing that I have always wanted is a swimming pool. I have wanted one since I was younger, but we never had a yard for a pool. I often wonder if we could put a pool in our yard here in Steger. We have not really looked into it yet but I am tempted every single year. One thing that would be very important would be taking a look at pool safety covers so that our kids would be safe as well as the neighborhood kids if they should come into our yard. A pool can be very fun but also very dangerous with small kids if you don't take the precautions. I might look into one this summer.

Cigar Smoke

One thing that I can stand the smell of is some cigars. I do not at all encourage anyone to smoke because it is terrible for your health. However the only thing that I sometimes can stand is the smell of a cigar. Some of the Swisher Sweets do not smell that bad. They are much better than the smell of cigarettes. I used to have an uncle that always would smoke a cigar. We would only see him once in a while during the holiday season. Now whenever I smell a cigar smell it reminds me of Christmas at my grandmas house when all my Texas family used to also live in illinois. You can get so many different cigars online that you can not find anywhere else these days. The Internet is such a good resource to find things.

New Hobbies

One thing I always wish I had was a hobby. I really used to love scrap booking but it soon got away from me. I did not have a place that I could lay all my materials out all the time. I did not like putting them away because I never then knew what I had. I always liked it when people had wood working hobbies. There is so many different small thing that you could make. I used to have a doll house when I was younger that was made by a wood worker. It was very neat to have. The woodworker used tons of tiny tools to make room and little furniture that went perfectly in my doll house rooms. He must have used tools like micrometers to get things just perfect. I always wanted a hand made doll house for Madison but we don't know anyone that is a experienced wood worker. I actually have a few hand crafted items from my childhood. I still cherish them today.

Keeping Safe

With three kids that are very curios we always try to keep things out of their reach. Some things you can do that with and then other things are next to impossible. There is only so many places that you can put cables that a kid can not reach. We always use a cable cover and make it look like there is nothing under it. Not only is it great for hiding them from the kids but it also makes a place that was over crowded with cords look nice and clean and out of the way. It allows you to drive over the cables in the garage and keep them tidy in the house. Ken also used them at work by his desk. It keeps things nice and safe so nobody will trip over the wires. I like things safe. We have enough injuries without making more.

So Cold

It is getting so cold here in Illinois. I really hate this time of year and it always makes me wish that I liked some place where it did not always get so cold for so long. I know that when you get cold people always begin to layer their clothing. I am one of those people. I try to stay warm any way that I can. I would much rather wear two sweatshirts than a huge winter coat. I also like the layer look with a vest. I seen that they now have a heated vest. That is really something that I'm interested in owning. I think it would also be a great gift for my mom as well. She is always cold and is always wearing a vest. It might be the perfect gift for her this year.

Perfect Printer

In our house we have a couple printers. We have one printer that is on our living room and that is a type of laser printers. We use this for everyday printing because it is just a black and white printer and we never have to replace the ink. As a matter of fact we have had the printer for two years now and have never replaced the ink at all. You can tell that we really do not print that often. The laser printer uses a toner and does not use very much at a time plus it is really fast at printing multiple pages. The toner does cost a lot to replace but since we do not do it often it really pays to have one. The other printer we have is an all in one. We have that one in the kids room on their computer. It is color they like it when they print out their pages. I like the laser printer and when you buy your toner online you can save as well.
